Recent Radisson Edwardian Manchester Review: "First impressions of this hotel are that outwardly it retains its classic look; a beautiful brownstone building that you could easily imagine has stood the test of time far longer than many of its contemporary modern competitors.
Step inside the lobby (via the doorman) and you are presented with a far more up-to-date view. Comfy sofas, modern sculptures and a general ambience of class and luxury ensue. Upon check in the staff were pleasant and courteous and we were up to our room within ten minutes of entering the building - just what was needed on a cold and rainy day in Manchester.
Despite being slightly disappointed with the size of the room itself, this didn't take away anything from the comfort or the style. The bed was large and adorned with luxurious cushions, the bathroom consisted of a wet room, bath and separate dressing area so ideal if more than one of you wants to get ready at any one time. The usual mini bar and television services were available, as was free wi-fi..handy because neither of us was able to get a phone signal in the room!
Although not having a great view of the city (we were side-on to the reception area) the room was more than adequate for our needs and we had a good night's sleep in comfort and peace and quiet.
We didn't have breakfast in the hotel the next morning (quite expensive, even for a 5 star hotel!) but the fact that you are bang slap in the middle of the city means that you can eaily source something more suitable if you want to venture out. The bar and the afternoon tea facilities also looked good and there was a good atmosphere when we came back to the hotel on the Friday evening after our night out. The doormen ensured that nobody who wasn't meant to be there was allowed in and this ensured that there was no trouble from the usual suspects.
On the whole, we would stay there again and you do get what you pay for. For a well-appointed, good quality hotel in a great location, you can't go wrong with the Radisson Edwardia"

Opus One - Lavishly decorated with black lacquered woodwork, crocodile leather chairs, and striking red neon chandeliers, the restaurant and bar serve modern British dishes at afternoon tea and dinner. Sample dishes include Potted Goose with Onion Bread, Smoked Haddock and Lancashire Cheese Fishcakes, and Steamed Fruit Pudding. At night, well-heeled Mancunians sip cocktails around the sleek black granite bar. Children's menu and vegetarian dishes available. Alto Terrace - Bright modern dining room serving an extensive breakfast buffet each morning, as well as lunch and dinner. In summer, tables spill out onto the al fresco terrace. The menu is light, healthy, and seasonal, showcasing the finest British ingredients prepared with a twist.
